Carbon Positive Motorsport & Highland Carbon announce strategic partnership
Carbon Positive Motor Sport is teaming up with Highland Carbon Ltd to help to make motorsport sustainable.
Highland Carbon were awarded SME magazine’s Scottish Enterprise Award as the “Best UK wide Carbon Offsetting Provider” in October 2021. Their team brings an impressive level of market knowledge and environmental skills to work with us.
Our partnership strengthens our ability to ensure the highest quality of carbon offsetting projects. It means that we can access and support regionally diverse projects to meet the needs of all motorsport disciplines and deliver regional environmental benefits within the UK, and globally for overseas customers in the future.
We hope by working together, that we can better support carbon offsetting projects and vet their quality at an earlier stage, securing long term stable supply and cost benefits to our customers and their needs.
Our ability to work together and apply leading practices from each other’s areas of expertise, will bring mutual benefits to both our companies over the long term, and reinforce the common shared purposes we have – to create benefits to the environment that are greater than offsetting alone.
Paul Glass, founding director of Carbon Positive Motorsport said: ‘’We are delighted to announce a strategic partnership with Highland Carbon Ltd. We have been very impressed by their abilities and professionalism as we gear up for our full launch this month.
Having such a partnership will support our long-term ambitions and purpose to reduce the environmental impact created by motorsport. It brings greater accessibility to the high standards of UK carbon offsetting projects we seek, and for the future enables us to work with overseas customers and certified projects in a far stronger way than we could on our own. This partnership will bring great benefits not only for us, but to motorsport in general’’.
Richard Clarke, Managing Director of Highland Carbon added: “We are very impressed by CPM’s vision to offer 125% offsetting opportunities to their clients, thus achieving a net gain of impacts for both climate and nature. We look forward to restoring wild forests and peatlands which provide habitat for an array of rare species on behalf of motorsport attendees, participants and teams.”
