International Offsetting Launched

Carbon Positive Motorsport launches international offsetting for overseas events and competitors.

Working in partnership with Highland Carbon, one of the UK's leading carbon offsetting project developers and providers, Carbon Positive Motorsport will offer a range of carbon offsetting services for EU based motorsport events and competitors.

From June, the Carbon Positive Motorsport website will have an overseas link, which will direct event or competitor enquiries users to a specific page, containing a downloadable e-brochure and further information on the projects and how to purchase.

Carbon Positive Motorsport director Steve Smith said ‘’I’m really pleased that we have been able to develop a suitable overseas carbon offsetting offer together with our partners Highland Carbon.

"Working together we have managed to design an affordable high quality project portfolio, that blends carbon offsetting and abatement projects, with high quality rewilding projects within Europe – this means we can maintain our commitment to providing greater benefits than offsetting alone.

"Due to UK regulations, it has not possible so far to provide offsetting for overseas generated carbon emissions, using our UK Woodland Carbon Code certified projects. This extension of our offer makes it possible to support motorsport events and competitors in countries such as Ireland, Germany, France, Italy, and the Benelux countries.‘’

Founder Paul Glass added, ‘’Since our launch we have received several enquiries from overseas events and competitors in a variety of motorsport disciplines. Expanding our offer overseas has always been a goal for us, and this is a first step towards that objective.

"The idea behind Carbon Positive Motorsport came at Rally Eifel in Germany in 2018, so I’m particularly happy we can support events such as that, but also events in Ireland - where there is such an active motorsport scene and where many drivers compete between the two countries.

"It's still very early days for us as a company, and we still have so much do within the UK to increase the adoption of our services for the benefit of motorsport and the environment. The UK remains our primary focus, but I’m very pleased that we have a solution that enables us to support motorsport in other countries such as Ireland’’.

Popular Dutch historic rallying competitor Leon Meijers is the first overseas driver to benefit from our international carbon offsetting services.

It only costs a little to make a big difference for the sport, so whether you're a competitor or spectator, why not join with us to help make motorsport sustainable.
