The Rallye festival plays a significant part in the history of Carbon Positive Motorsport, as it was the event that inspired the formation of the company in 2018. The hugely popular event has attracted many world champions over the years and is known for having a diverse range of historic rally vehicles from all decades of the sport, driving at full rally speed over a variety of challenging stages. Nicky has become a regular participant since 2019, competing in his beloved Group A Toyota Celica ST185 as an invited entrant.

Carbon Positive Motorsport director, Paul Glass, said: "We are delighted to partner with Nicky Grist on this year’s event. Nicky has been a great support to our initiative since our launch, by including carbon offsetting on his own rally, the Nicky Grist Stages. For me it’s a great circular link to have him appear at Rally Eifel with his event and travel emissions offset using our services. Rally Eifel has a very special place in our story, as it was at the event that the idea of our initiative was formed."

Nicky will be joined by Carbon Positive Motorsport ambassador Leon Meijers, who will once again be pleasing the crowds by driving spectacularly in his iconic Ford Anglia. Leon competes for the third year with his carbon emissions again being offset by Carbon Positive Motorsport.
The entry list for the Eifel Rallye Festival shows just how colourful and diverse the starting field is going to be. 160 historic rally cars from makes such as Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Audi, Citroën, Ferrari, Ford, Hyundai, Opel, Peugeot, Porsche, Renault, Trabant, Triumph, Volvo and VW will be represented. In total, there are 30 different car manufacturers, 95 different models and 145 variations of livery. "We are very proud that our participants are giving us and the fans such a diverse field," says Reinhard Klein, who as the head of Slowly Sideways is responsible for the vehicle line-up for the Festival. "The quality of these either original or faithfully reproduced rally cars has yet again increased. Thanks to this, we – the organisers and the participants – are making a joint contribution to preserving the history of rallying."
