CPM Partners with Junior Rallycross Championship

March 30, 2023

Carbon Positive Motosport will be working in partnership with the Junior Rallycross Championship for 2023.

In a first for Carbon Positive Motorsport, the company will be offsetting all competitor fuel usage for the entire 2023 Junior Rallycross Championship.

Steve Smith, Carbon Positive Motorsport founder, commented, " I've personally known the Gwynne family for over 35 years and I am very excited to announce that we have secured a partnership with the Junior Rallycross Championship headed up by Peter Gwynne & Sarah Watson."

Smith continued, "What I like the best about the Junior Rallycross Championship, is that it is a controlled car and tyre challenge, meaning that the best drivers will shine through. The first round is on the 8th April Lydden Hill, and in the mix they even have a European round later in the year.

I'm looking forward to meeting all of the drivers. As a junior championship, it's great opportunity to set young drivers on the educational path towards offsetting their Co2 footprint in all the motorsport disciplines they may move onto."

Carbon Positive Motorsport have also set up a friends and family discount code, which all competitors can use if they wish to offset their personal fuel usage to and from events for both petrol and diesel usage.

Peter Gwynne, the founder of the Swift Junior Rallycross Championship, said, "I've been fortunate enough to be involved in motorsport for most of my life. The phrases climate change and carbon footprint were not common or heard of as I was growing up!

"Nowadays, it is in the media daily and we cannot ignore the fact we hugely increase our carbon footprint just for the purpose of having fun."

Gwynne added, "The Race to Zero campaign led by the UN (United Nations), already has major UK companies committed to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2050. That is why it is important, we as a motorsport community are pro-active now to start to work together in reducing our carbon footprint, to make the sport we love more sustainable for future generations to enjoy.

"Discovering that Carbon Positive Motorsport can work towards offsetting our carbon emissions really helps us try to achieve this goal. With them supporting the Junior Rallycross Championship, our next wave of junior drivers will have a real insight into their responsibilities as a competitor, helping towards protecting the planet as they start their motorsport journey and helping our sport to survive."

Carbon Positive Motorsport wishes all of the competitors all the best as they prepare for round one and we will keep you updated on their progress.
