Our first Karter, 11 year old Lily Hilton joins CPM!

Lily Hilton will offset her fuel usage for her next event at GYG

Carbon Positive Motorsport are very pleased to announce our first Karter, Lily Hilton, who's only 11 years old.

Lily tried karting when she was 8 but didn’t take to it; then eventually went back for more and has been karting mostly indoors for the last 18 months.

Last year Lily competed in the British Indoor Karting Championship (BIKC), and went through to local finals and narrowly missed regionals. She also took part in a few Total Karting Zero meetings last summer.

This year's Super One series is due to start and Lily will be in her Honda cadet. Lily’s dad is her influence for racing, he started karting aged 19 then moved onto various car races, he’s now 63 and is still keen.

Lily knows she wants a career in Motorsport, but lives in the moment and enjoys the here and now when racing. Her mum Louise decided to offset Lily’s fuel usage as well as her racing travel footprint to encourage her awareness of what emissions do negatively to the planet.

"If you can see it, you can be it"

Louise says, "I hope this empowers Lily to know she can make positive choices. Offsetting her racing emissions may seem like a small contribution, but it’s part of the wider discussions, innovations and changes that are occurring in motorsport. If others can see Lily being Carbon Positive, they can see that they can be too."

Steve Smith, one of the partners at Carbon Positive Motorsport added, "I am very pleased that Louise & Lily have come on board, not just to offset her Karting fuel but also their travel to and from home. What a inspiration to others Lily can be and at such a young age, it's a great starting point. "The team and I at Carbon Positive Motorsport will certainly be keeping tabs on Lily's racing career... All the best Lily!"
