Asset Alliance Group to Carbon Offset 2024 Rally Programme

Asset Alliance Group will be positive about motorsport for the 2024 season, with all rally drivers in its ambassador programme having their competition-related carbon emissions offset by Carbon Positive Motorsport.

Asset Alliance Group sponsored drivers competing in rallying championships will have their carbon emissions offest by Carbon Positive Motorsport this year

Building on their work together in 2023 with Asset Alliance Group CEO Willie Paterson on the Mull Rally, and with drivers such as Garry Pearson in the British Rally Championship, the partnership will cover all Asset Alliance Group sponsored drivers competing in rallying championships this year.

Asset Alliance Group is a leading supporter of motorsport within the UK, and is a headline partner of the Scottish Rally Championship while also backing talented rally competitors such as Garry Pearson in the BRC, Max McRae in the BRC and Junior ERC, Archie Swinscoe in the BRC Junior championship and Ryan Walker in the Junior 1000 Ecosse Challenge.

Announcing the partnership, Asset Alliance Group CEO Willie Paterson, who will become an ambassador for Carbon Positive Motorsport, said: "As a provider of commercial vehicles, we are keenly aware of the importance greener fuels have in a more sustainable future for the transport sector.

"We are committed to sustainability, not only in terms of decarbonising our own business, but supporting our customers in their individual green journeys.

"Within the group we have an in-house Environmental Management Group to implement reductions in our carbon footprint, and our company car fleet is already hybrid-electric.

"In addition to actively driving efforts to increase the number of alternatively fuelled vehicles across the company, we are a leader in the supply of electric buses and coaches and have plans in place to run trials of fully electric HGVs with several customers this year.

"That’s why extending our partnership with Carbon Positive Motorsport is such a great fit with our wider decarbonisation strategy, and we look forward to working with the team on innovative new ways to make motorsport sustainable."

Carbon Positive Motorsport founding director Paul Glass added, "It’s great to work with Asset Alliance Group this year and extend the relationship we have had with their drivers, many of whom have supported our positive about motorsport initiative since its launch in 2022.

"With their drivers competing at all levels, in a variety of disciplines and championships, it’s a perfect opportunity to showcase the range of carbon offsetting solutions for motorsport that we provide.

"I have been really impressed by Asset Alliance Group’s commitment to supporting their competitors, especially at the early stages of their careers. Working with them perfectly fits with our mission is to help make motorsport and the environment more sustainable for future generations to enjoy."

For 2024 Carbon Positive Motorsport has launched a new Offset Your Season solution, which lets competitors quickly and easily offset their expected carbon emissions for the year.

Available in either one, two or three tonne unit levels, Offset Your Season is based on expected fuel consumption. Customers receive a folder with certificate and exclusive positive about motorsport decals. Buying at scale means that competitors can benefit from a discounted rate and at £95 per season for one tonne, it’s a small cost that makes a big difference to the sport.
