Rookie race driver Sarah Hall embarked on her first full season of racing in this year's Focus Cup. Her plan had originally been to try one race meeting: "Before I could make my mind up which track I’d like to experience, the opportunity arose to race the entire season. This was a truly unbelievable offer that I grabbed with both hands."

During the season Sarah raced at Donington Park, Brands Hatch on both Indy and GP circuits, Snetterton and Oulton Park, a total of 14 races, seven qualifying sessions and six test days. Scoring consistently, she finished 12th in the championship.

Sarah was happy with her championship position, "I'm very pleased to finish 12th in my first season, but there's plenty to work on for next year.

"I’ve had an amazing opportunity this season to get some well needed seat time, learn new tracks and really get stuck in. I have learnt so much and really experienced the highs and lows of racing. The entire paddock at Focus Cup has taken me under their wing and I feel part of the family. I’ve also made some amazing new friends and connections along the way."

Focus Cup is a really unique championship, with the whole fleet built and maintained by the championship themselves, meaning the cars are all built to the same specification. Sarah added, "Driver skill is the only thing to worry about on a race weekend. The Focus Cup team of mechanics take care of everything for you, so you can simply turn up with your licence and race kit and drive. It’s a real community feel with lots of support and laughs in the paddock. A special thank you must go to my support network and sponsors."

Carbon Positive Motorsport appointed Sarah as a Race Ambassador and have supported her this season. Director Steve Smith said, "It's been a pleasure to watch Sarah develop as a driver in her first season and Carbon Positive Motorsport will offsetting her unavoidable CO2 emissions for her racing this year."

Sarah added, "I have really enjoyed partnering with Carbon Positive Motorsport this year, to help offset my fuel usage for every single race and test day. At some stage, the motorsport we love is going to face unwanted changes out of our control. It’s a scary prospect to think we could be stopped watching or doing what we love. To be able to offset my fuel emissions means a small step in the right direction. And future partnerships can have confidence that we are trying to do the right thing. "Next season I plan on racing with Focus Cup again and with some experience behind me I’m hoping to improve on my own times and racecraft. There are also some new circuits to enjoy and a round at my home circuit which will be fantastic to have more family and friends able to come and support and enjoy a weekend's racing."
